Day by day itinerary
Upon your arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, our representative will greet you. You will then be transported to your lodging in Amman. Overnight accommodation in Amman.
After breakfast, depart Amman to explore the Greco-Roman metropolis of Jerash, hailed as the City of a Thousand Columns. This ancient city, reminiscent of the splendor of Imperial Rome and dubbed the Pompeii of the East, stands as one of the most expansive and well-preserved exemplars of Roman architecture beyond Italy's borders.
Jerash’s opulence is evident in its colonnaded thoroughfare and grand Oval Plaza. Next, visit Ajlun, renowned for its medieval Arab military stronghold presided over by Saladin, offering breathtaking vistas of the Jordan Valley.
Proceed to Um Qais, a locale enriched with Hellenistic black basalt ruins, once known as Gadara. Positioned on a hilltop in northwestern Jordan, it provides sweeping views of the Golan Heights and Lake Tiberius (Sea of Galilee). Um Qais, also part of the Decapolis, concludes today's exploration. Return to Amman for an overnight stay.
Following breakfast, embark on a city tour of Amman, visiting the ancient Roman theatre, the Citadel, and the Umayyad Palace, along with the Archaeological and Folklore Museums.
Continue to the Baptism site “Bethany beyond the Jordan,” then proceed to the Dead Sea, the earth's lowest elevation on land, for a swim in its buoyant, saline waters. Enjoy leisure time before retiring for the night at a hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a day of leisure at the Dead Sea. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Post breakfast, journey along the historic King's Highway, an ancient route marked by the passage of traders, armies, and pilgrims. This path once formed a segment of the storied Silk Road.
Visit the Christian town of Madaba, known as the City of Mosaics. Here, explore the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, which houses the renowned Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land from the 6th century, depicting Jerusalem and other significant locales. The Archaeological Park showcases remains of several Byzantine churches, including the splendid mosaics of the Church of the Virgin and a school dedicated to the restoration of ancient mosaics.
Next, ascend Mt. Nebo, a revered site believed to be where Moses viewed the Promised Land and where he rests. The site features 4th to 6th-century ruins with exquisite mosaics. Proceed through the dramatic landscapes of Wadi Mujib, offering some of Jordan’s most spectacular vistas.
Continue to Kerak to visit the Crusader’s Castle, a testament to the military ingenuity of the Crusaders with its history spanning from the Byzantine to the Mamluk period. Conclude the day’s travels in Petra. Overnight accommodation in Petra.
After breakfast, embark on an exploration of Petra, famously known as the “rose-red city, half as old as time.” Founded by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago, Petra is renowned for its monumental architecture and vibrant stone colors.
Begin the tour on horseback, followed by a walk through the Siq, a narrow gorge flanked by towering cliffs. At the Siq's end, behold Petra’s most iconic edifice: the Treasury. As the day unfolds, unravel the ancient city's myriad secrets. Overnight in Petra.
Following breakfast, head to Beida, or Little Petra, the Nabatean hospitality site. Then, journey southward to the mesmerizing Wadi Rum, Jordan’s largest desert, famed for its stunning desertscapes. Enjoy a Jeep tour through Wadi Rum before proceeding to the coastal city of Aqaba. Overnight stay in Aqaba.
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely day in Aqaba. In the afternoon, transfer back to Amman. Overnight accommodation in Amman.
